Dr. Darwin Asa received his BS in Honors Biology from the University of Michigan-Flint and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois. He did post-doctoral work in both biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Over the course of his almost 30-year career, he has held a variety of research, product development and marketing positions. Dr. Asa has worked in a wide range of research fields including Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Proteomics, and Analytical Chemistry He has also managed several products and technologies used in the process and analytical development of pharmaceuticals. His experience also includes work on a number of products and technologies in Clinical Diagnostics products in Oncology, Clinical Chemistry, and Microbiology. He recently joined Thermo Fisher Scientific and is currently the Global Market Development Manager for Nucleic Acid Therapeutics, responsible for many of the materials used in development and manufacturing of oligonucleotide therapeutics and mRNA vaccines.
