Boulevard Bio is coming out of stealth with $65 million in financing from Deerfield Management and a pipeline focused on B cell-driven autoimmune disease. Its lead program, BLVD101, is a bispecific BAFF/APRIL antibody being developed for IgA nephropathy. Early phase 1 data support once-quarterly dosing, while two additional multispecific antibody candidates are also in development.

Meanwhile, AbCellera is turning to the public markets, announcing a proposed $200 million offering to support its internal pipeline, including lead program ABCL635. The antibody targets NK3R and is being developed as a nonhormonal treatment for menopausal vasomotor symptoms. The offering follows positive phase 2 results, in which a 600-milligram dose reduced symptom severity by 58%, compared with 12% for placebo.

And in oncology, Nucleai and Gilead are expanding a collaboration using AI-powered tissue analytics to support Gilead’s ADC programs. Nucleai is analyzing pathology images to identify spatial biomarkers that could help explain why some tumors respond to ADCs while others do not. The approach goes beyond simply measuring target expression by incorporating tissue architecture, tumor heterogeneity, and the tumor microenvironment.

For today’s drug developers, the interesting question may be less about whether these technologies are advancing and more about how effectively they can translate into better-defined targets, stronger clinical programs, and therapies that reach patients.
