Heath Bowers, PhD
North American Technical Director, Pharmaceutical Sciences
ABITEC Corp.

Dr Heath Bowers joined ABITEC in 2018. He currently serves as the North American Technical Business Director for the Pharmaceuticals market. In this role, Dr Bowers assists formulation scientists in the development of lipid-based drug delivery systems like SEDDs, LNPs, and Cubosomes. Additionally, Dr Bowers has contributed to academic and industry collaborations, new product development efforts, and application research to further ABITEC’s place in the global lipid excipient market.

Dr Heath received his PhD in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University in 2008. Immediately following graduation, he began working in the R&D department of a mid-sized biochemical company that was acquired by VWR. Dr Heath was promoted to Head of R&D and eventually transitioned into a business role within VWR. After leaving VWR, Dr Heath joined GE Lifesciences, assisting pharmaceutical and academic scientists in their efforts to purify biological actives and proteins. Now with ABITEC, Dr Heath assists in the delivery of actives instead of purifying them.

Chhanda Kapadia, PhD

A PhD (Tech) in Pharmaceutics from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, Dr.Kapadia comes with more than two decades of experience in Academia and Industry. Prior to joining IMCD, she was associated with Gattefossé India Pvt ltd and the Bombay College of Pharmacy. She holds strong experience in working with Lipid Based Drug delivery systems with international publications and patents to her credit. Additionally, she is also associated as a visiting lecturer and examiner for postgraduate students at the Mumbai University.
