CPhI Worldwide announces five new categories for the 2015 CPhI Pharma Awards.

On June 15, 2015, CPhI Worldwide, part of the UBM EMEA group, announced five additional categories for this years’ CPhI Pharma Awards including an award for innovation in biologic drug development and maufacturing. The awards are designed to “honor companies and individuals driving the pharma industry forward through innovations, new approaches, technologies, and strategies,” according to a press release.

The new categories include: best innovation in APIs and excipients; best innovation in biologic drug development and manufacturing; innovation in supply chain and logistic management; best innovation in manufacturing technology; and CEO of the year. The new categories join the three existing categories: innovation in packaging; innovation in process and formulation development; and excellence in partnering and outsourcing.

The categories were expanded to recognize all players in the pharmaceutical supply chain. The award finalists will deliver a presentation to a panel of ten experts from the pharma industry who will then deliberate and announce the winners at an award ceremony on the first day of CPhI Worldwide, held in Madrid, Spain from October 13 to 15, 2015. Entries are open to exhibitors and visitors of CPhI Worldwide until August 14, 2015, and finalists, who will be announced on September 21, will be given an award entry profile in the CPhI Show daily.
