Madison Dearborn Partners will acquire a majority ownership position in CDMO Alcami.
Alcami Corporation announced in a June 1, 2018 press statement that Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC (MDP), a private equity firm based in Chicago, will acquire a majority ownership position in Alcami from existing shareholder Ares Capital Corporation.
The Durham, NC-based contract development and manufacturing firm has 10 locations worldwide and provides API development and manufacturing, solid state chemistry, formulation development, analytical development and testing services, drug product manufacturing, and packaging and stability services tailored to small and mid-size pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
The current Alcami's management team, led by Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman, Stephan Kutzer, will continue with the company. The company expects the transaction to be completed in the third quarter of 2018, pending customary closing conditions.
