2019 CPhI Awards to Recognize Technology, Corporate, and Individual Achievements

The awards recognize are judged on innovation, purpose and benefits to the audience, problem-solving, and competitive advantage.

Innovation in the development and manufacture of pharmaceuticals again will be recognized through the annual CPhI Pharma Awards. The awards program, now in its 16th year, is open to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies engaged in the design, development, manufacture, production, and distribution of small-molecule and biologic drug products.

The awards recognize excellence in nine categories. Entries are judged on four criteria: innovation, purpose and benefits to the audience, problem-solving, and competitive advantage. Nominations were accepted in the following categories:

  • Excellence in Pharma: API Development

  • Excellence in Pharma: Finished Formulation

  • Excellence in Pharma: Manufacturing Technology and Equipment

  • Excellence in Pharma: Bioprocessing & Manufacturing

  • Excellence in Pharma: Analysis, Testing, and Quality Control

  • Excellence in Pharma: Packaging & Drug Delivery Devices

  • Excellence in Pharma: Supply Chain, Logistics, and Distribution

  • Excellence in Pharma: Contract Services and Outsourcing

  • Excellence in Pharma: Regulatory Procedures and Compliance.

In addition, recognition will be given for service to the industry. The CEO of the Year award will recognize an executive of a bio/pharma or service provider who displays dynamism, lifetime achievements, leadership qualities, and contribution to the industry. Candidates will be evaluated on financial and product performance, global reach, leadership skills, management capability, charitable initiatives, sustainability, regulatory compliance, profitability, vision, marketing, acquisitions, corporate strategy, and financing.

The Pharma Service Company of the Year award will recognize innovation in technologies, products, processes, and services designed to ensure that bio/pharma companies comply with compendial standards and rules established by regulatory authorities. The candidates will be evaluated on innovation, depth and breadth of competencies, operational excellence, business growth and success, and differentiation.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will recognize an individual for their pharmaceutical or biotech career-long service and a demonstrable commitment toward driving innovation and advancement in Pharma. The winner may be retired or semi-retired but will continue to be active in the industry in some capacity.

A judging panel of independent industry experts, including editorial representatives from Pharmaceutical Technology magazine, will review entries. The winners will be announced during a reception Nov. 5, 2019 at The Forum, Congress Center Messe, at CPhI Worldwide in Frankfurt, Germany.
