OPTIMIZATION TOOL

The μ24 bioreactor from Applikon offers a platform for fermentation in a very small volume. Based on a micro-titerplate (24 wells), each well (reactor) has a working volume of 2–6 mL. Each reactor has its own pH and temperature measurement and control capabilities. The agitation (orbital shaking) can be controlled in the range 0–800 rpm. HIGH SHEAR MIXER

Millipore Corporation's high shear HS T10 mixer has a small size that makes it ideal for use in small production-scale processes and pilot plants. The Biostat Cultibag is a disposable bioreactor from Sartorious which combines rocking motion mixing technology with Sartorius engineered-control capabilities. The Cultibag is used for any disposable applications, and in particular cultivation of cells in batch, fed batch, and perfusion operation. The hardware is available in application driven packages inclusive of data logging software. BENCHTOP FERMENTOR

STABILIZING PROTEINS

Prionex is the BSA and HSA alternative from Centerchem. In protein stabilization, Prionex maintains the activity of proteins and enzymes during heat denaturation, lyophilization, and in long-term storage studies. It can be used in assay procedures to prevent non-specific binding and as an additive in cell culture. Unlike BSA, Prionex is safe and easy to work with.
