GE Healthcare Life Sciences announced that it will build a KUBio modular biopharmaceutical factory in China for JHL Biotech.

GE Healthcare Life Sciences announced that it will build a KUBio modular biopharmaceutical factory in China for JHL Biotech, a provider of biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing services. The site for the new factory, which will be operational beginning early 2015, is the Biolake Science Park in Wuhan, China.

The turnkey approach involves the on-site assembly of pre-made modules. GE will project-manage the build and members of its Shanghai Fast Trak team will be deployed to validate the equipment and provide training for JHL Biotech staff.  After completion, the facility will have a floor space of approximately 2,400 m2 and will contain a number of 2,000L single-use bioreactors.
