Vice President, Head of Wuxi Mashan Site Global Manufacturing Business Unit
WuXi Biologics
Dr Yuan Wen is Head of the Wuxi Mashan Site of Global Manufacturing Business Unit at WuXi Biologics, previosuly serving as Head of MFG1, MFG4, MFG20, and DP9. His teams were first in Asia to implement 4,000 L and 5,000 L single-use bioreactors for GMP and commercial manufacturing. This innovation served global biologic and vaccine products approved by FDA, EMA, NMPA, and more. Before his MFG roles, Dr Yuan Wen was responsible for cell culture process development at the Wuxi Mashan site, focusing on late-phase process development and process characterization. Dr Wen is also an experienced CMC leader who supports activities ranging from IND to commercial manufacturing.
Before joining WuXi Biologics, Dr Wen worked at Life Technologies and Thermo Fisher Scientific in the US with increasing technical and business responsibilities. He holds a BS in Bioengineering from Zhejiang University, and a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Ohio State University.
