The FDA has appointed David Horowitz as the assistant commissioner for policy.

The FDA has appointed David Horowitz as the assistant commissioner for policy. Since 2005, Horowitz served as the assistant commissioner for compliance policy in the Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA). He also played a leading role in constructing and beginning implementation of FDA’s Import Strategy that gave rise to the Action Plan for Import Safety developed by the President’s Interagency Working Group on Import Safety. Since joining the FDA in 1991, Horowitz has also served as associate chief counsel for enforcement, associate chief counsel for drugs, and director of the Office of Compliance in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
