Speakers:
Anita Liu is an Associate Principal Scientist in the Biologics Mass Spectrometry (MS) group at Merck & Co., focusing on MS-based method development and technological innovation to advance biotherapeutic characterization. She earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
Anita began her career in mass spectrometry at ExSAR, where she applied hydrogen-deuterium exchange MS (HDX-MS) to higher-order structure analysis of antibody drugs. She then joined Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, leading the development of anion-exchange chromatography–MS (AEX-MS) for charge variant analysis in monoclonal antibodies and hydrophilic-interaction chromatography–MS (HILIC-MS) to assess quality attributes in adeno-associated virus capsids. At Merck, she continues to explore innovative MS approaches, including the coupling of imaged capillary isoelectric focusing with UV and MS detection (icIEF-UV/MS).
Anita has over 15 years of industry experience in MS-based protein characterization and separation science.
Jingwen Ding, PhD, is a Senior Technical Product Manager at SCIEX, focusing on the development and refinement of imaged capillary isoelectric focusing with ultraviolet detection and mass spectrometry (icIEF-UV/MS) workflows to provide reliable charge heterogeneity information. She earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut and a BS from Nankai University.
