Instrument for Continuous Protein and Polymer Aggregation Analysis

Fluence Analytics’ Argen is a protein and polymer stability monitoring product that uses continuous light scattering measurements to produce an information stream.

Fluence Analytics, a manufacturer of industrial and laboratory monitoring systems, has developed Argen, a protein and polymer stability monitoring product. The product produces an information stream which reduces discovery, formulation, and development times through the use of continuous light scattering measurements, which are also used to characterize the stability of proteins, polymers, and other natural products by measuring changes in molecular weight.

The instrument is suited for accurate control of thermal and mechanical stressors for each of its 16 independent sample cells. By continuously analyzing the state of samples, the product provides new time-series datasets with quantitative insights into the early detection of aggregation, degradation, and particle formation. Users can swap samples in and out during experiments without affecting ongoing measurements in other cells. Data can also optimize lower throughput, standard characterization tests such as size-exclusion chromatography.

The instrument’s features include commercial control and analysis software that enables users to configure, monitor, and manipulate experiment conditions in real time. The software also offers the ability to analyze past or current experiments and to determine the aggregation rate of any sample.
