UPS Expands Dangerous Goods Shipping Program

The company announced the expansion of its global shipping program, which now allows companies to ship dangerous goods between 36 countries.
On April 12, 2017, UPS announced the expansion of its global dangerous goods shipping program. UPS is adding more than 400 new commodities that can be accepted in its global air network and more than 300 products across its ground network in Europe. The company also increased the allowable quantity of select dangerous goods accepted for shipment. UPS is now offering shipment of dangerous items between 36 countries.
According to UPS, there is an increasing demand from companies looking to ship products that are classified as dangerous. Healthcare companies, UPS noted in a statement, often transport chemicals to clean laboratory equipment. Industrial manufacturers, UPS continued, transport paint, compressed gases, adhesives, and batteries, among other items.
