Event Overview:

T cell lymphocytes play a central role in the adaptive immune response. They are an essential tool of adoptive cell therapy for the treatment of chronic viral infections and malignant diseases. However, the development of cell-based therapy products generally requires the production of a large quantity of high-quality viable T cells in a controlled environment. Stirred-tank bioreactors can offer a suitable environment for the culture of T cells by providing homogeneous distribution of nutrients and gases, along with the maintenance of cells and molecules in suspension with a high process control capability.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Extend your knowledge on the possibilities of stirred-tank bioreactor-based T cell culture process development.
  • Identify the potential and challenges associated with T cell culture.
  • Understand how stirred-tank bioreactors can help addressing these challenges.

Who Should Attend:

  • Lab scientists interested in T cell culture in bioreactors
  • Laboratory managers who want to optimize T cell cuture at large scale
  • Bioprocess engineers who want to learn about T cell process development

Speaker:

Françoise de Longueville, PhD
Managing Director/Head of Core Test Lab
Eppendorf SE

Dr. Francoise de Longueville is the Managing Director of Eppendorf Applications Technologies, Belgium. She studied molecular and cell biology and received her PhD in toxicogenomics from the University of Namur. During her thesis, she analyzed the adverse effects of drugs using gene expression analysis with UCB. Since 2002 she has worked in the field of applied research, strongly focused on expansion and differentiation of stem cells in 2D and 3D cell culture systems.
