Germany-based Vetter held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 18, 2010, for its new facility in Ravensburg. Vetter, a contract manufacturing organization specializing in fill-finish processes, will build a high bay warehouse for cold-storage and room-temperature goods.
The new site will have space for automatic and manual visual inspection as well as for stability chambers. The facility also will allow the company to optimize its control and logistical processes to facilitate safe and expeditious product delivery to customers.
The first construction phase of the facility, scheduled for completion by the end of 2011, is estimated to cost more than 30 million Euros. Once completed, Vetter will use mostly renewable energy from photovoltaic cells, biogas, and geothermal sources to power the plant.
