Located in Herndon, Virginia Mediatech was named Virginia Biotechnology Association Company of the Year for 2004. Plans are
underway for Mediatech to relocate their corporate headquarters to Innovation@ Prince William Technology Park. Governor Warner
(VA) announced that Mediatech would receive state and county cash grants and other incentives in the range of $1.4M for the
relocation. In addition to being a cGMP facility and complying with FDA Guidelines for Class I medical devices, Mediatech
was recently certified under ISO 13485:2003.
Mediatech manufacturers and supplies a variety of products supporting such biopharmaceutical techniques as transfection, translation,
ligation, cryopreservation, flow cytometry, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, PCR, microbiology, and immunology
The primary markets served by Mediatech include academic/research, clinical and pharmaceutical and government agencies. Products
are sold direct through a comprehensive network of sales representatives and field managers in the United States as well as
through distributors domestically and abroad.
The diverse portfolio of Mediatech includes cell culture media and reagents, antibiotics, sera, serum-free media, custom formulations,
and bioprocess collection containers. For industrial customers, Mediatech provides large-scale media production, validation
and sterility, pilot production and testing labs. Mediatech is a primary supplier to the majority of tissue processors for
human tissue repair and transplantation and to researchers isolating islet cells.
Mediatech's 50,000 square foot facility just added a proprietary state-of-the-art bottle filling machine capable of producing
5.4 million bottles a year in two shifts at an unprecedented sterility assurance level that surpasses industry standards.
The facility is also equipped with a WFI system capable of producing 1,300 liters/hour and up to 30,000 liters/day.
